1980s: Formation of H.M.Sully General Builders In 1981 Howard Malcolm Sully, at the age of 24 decided to start up his own building company, thus called H.M.Sully General Builders. The company originally comprised of five employees (all of which still work for the company to this day!) Howard started his bricklaying apprenticeship in 1972 at British Steel Orb Works, working his way up to Site Foreman. After completing his 4 year apprenticeship, Howard went for a years plastering, coving and artexing. 1990s: Worldwide Development In the early 90's the Constuction Industry suffered a decline, so Howard decided to take his expertise to America, Germany, Holland and Ireland to work on development projects that at the time were more prosperous. This gave Howard vast experiences and knowledge of foreign developments that he has found beneficial incorporating into traditional british construction methods. 2000s: Formation of Ullyses Ltd Building and Maintenance In November 2001, Ullyses Ltd was formed to provide an innovative building and maintenance service in both the insurance and private sectors. Now in 2006, we employ 15-first class tradesman and rely solely on work from recommendation. (click here to view our workforce) Prestigious Jobs The most prestigious jobs that we have worked on are The Celtic Manor (phase one stonework), Llan Rumney School, a supermarket in Cinderford and an aeroplane hanger in Saint Athens. Our biggest private development project has been an extension at a cost of £130,000 and our smallest has been an £80 patio. "There is no job to big, no job to small", Howard Sully. |
